Psychedelic drug LSD and its effect on people have always been a popular topic among users since its invention. The gif "hell eye" simulates the visual effect induced by LSD. The picture refers to the common connection people draw between the mythological idea of third eye and LSD trips.
Process: original image was drawn on a piece of paper. I took a picture of the paper and transferred it onto my laptop. After enhancing details in the picture, I made 7 copies of it. I manipulated the Hue, used ripple effect, and then added grain to each picture (all set to different levels). I then created a loop using the 7 pictures with a delay time of 0.1s between every two images.
The gif intends to create a sense of nervousness, possible visual illusion and uneasiness. The visual representation will only be understood by those who have visited other realms.

we're all kids

"we're all kids" advocates self acceptance through enjyng's monologue. it is inspired from the realization that the present of our personalities exist along with the past. what's more to us is the history that we carry and the history that changed us.
in our society, many struggle with identity crisis and other mental issues. enjyng aims to use his very personal visual and sound manifestations to help people relate, thus they feel less alone...and this is just the beginning.
“Found Footages, Not Political (2019)”
The Internet possesses millions of video archives. Tracing to the root, every single video is created by humans directly or indirectly. And every single video explains a situation, an occurrence and projects a unique aura. “Found Footages 2019, Not Political” is building on this idea by combining videos that give off similar auras together (the topic, or the vibes of the videos are similar). This project focuses on choosing videos that project a sense of urgency, absurdity, and identity.
The artwork consists of two parts: an original audio track and a montage of found footages online. The intentional use of distortion on the soundtrack is a reference to the internet meme culture and also to create a sense of disturbance. The reasons behind choosing these footages is because they share similar energies: dark humours, sense of urgency, social anxiety, and bizarreness.
While editing the video, I noticed that to feel the pace for camera cuts is more important than cutting them on beat. Sometimes, off-timed camera cuts are better because it appears to be more natural.
“EVOL” (2019)

A reversed clip screening a tragical relationship. It is left to the audience to catch what the story says. “What is love?”...The project contains methods of videography, script-writing, and post audio production. The time is set to the stressful winter season. A violent start to drug problems & a conflict to a peaceful ending. This video aims to bring attention to the unpredictability of a toxic relationship, and it urges people not to act on their emotions while feeling over the edge.
"Persona?" (2020)

The video starts with overlaid footage, accompanied by audio clips of the death report of famous musician Mac Miller, Lil Peep, and XXXTENTACION. The 8mm film frame and the overall grain assembles the Lo-Fi effect and adds to the dark overtone. The knife symbolizes that the artist’s dream of becoming a musician is associated with the drugs filled industry and the subsequent cause of death of many youths. The artist separates himself from his sense of guilt by putting on a mask (birth of a new identity or escapism?). The interpretive dance of the song aims to express hopelessness and a sense of struggle. Right before the video ends, the artist chases the camera, representing how young artists chase fame and attention. Will he succeed or miss the shot?
"love is water" (2020)
Clips of footage in a surreal environment accompanied by rather hollow-sounding instruments...The artist aims to utilize his abilities in sound design to express a feeling of intimacy using a few relating elements: water, as it is the essence of life; fish, as they used to be livings of all; love, as it is a fantasy of many. The video was made in the hope to explore the relationships between these elements as they all cross and meet at one vital point, and the concept of that point is fluidity and life. The two words are very ambiguous in terms just like our feelings. We can always normalize the words into simple definitions. However, as we live through our life, these words can become profound, even heavy. The artist wants the viewers to feel these words through the definitions that are made of sound instead of words. He wants to share his perspective through experiencing rather than lecturing. Because he believes...well...tho nothing is an absolute truth, navigating life while absorbing different perspectives could be beneficial to us all.
