"Persona?" (2020)

The video starts with overlaid footage, accompanied by audio clips of the death report of famous musician Mac Miller, Lil Peep, and XXXTENTACION. The 8mm film frame and the overall grain assembles the Lo-Fi effect and adds to the dark overtone. The knife symbolizes that the artist’s dream of becoming a musician is associated with the drugs filled industry and the subsequent cause of death of many youths. The artist separates himself from his sense of guilt by putting on a mask (birth of a new identity or escapism?). The interpretive dance of the song aims to express hopelessness and a sense of struggle. Right before the video ends, the artist chases the camera, representing how young artists chase fame and attention. Will he succeed or miss the shot?
"love is water" (2020)

Clips of footage in a surreal environment accompanied by rather hollow-sounding instruments...The artist aims to utilize his abilities in sound design to express a feeling of intimacy using a few relating elements: water, as it is the essence of life; fish, as they used to be livings of all; love, as it is a fantasy of many. The video was made in the hope to explore the relationships between these elements as they all cross and meet at one vital point, and the concept of that point is fluidity and life. The two words are very ambiguous in terms just like our feelings. We can always normalize the words into simple definitions. However, as we live through our life, these words can become profound, even heavy. The artist wants the viewers to feel these words through the definitions that are made of sound instead of words. He wants to share his perspective through experiencing rather than lecturing. Because he believes...well...tho nothing is an absolute truth, navigating life while absorbing different perspectives could be beneficial to us all.
“‘cuz I’m always too on” (2020)

This piece explores the visual and audio experience of a video in relation to its playback speed. In the first section, the video slows down by 20% every time “you” is mentioned, and speeds up 20% every time “I” is mentioned; In the second section, the video speeds up by 10% every time a kick drum hits; In the third section, the video slows to half of its speed when “on” is mentioned. The artist wants to show the viewer how the human voice, which is also the most recognizable element throughout the video, is being affected along with the visual element and the instrumental. When the human voice is sped up, it creates a chipmunk-like sound, when it is slowed down, it becomes airy and dark. Nevertheless, the last section of the video aims to express the feeling of being “on '', which in reality, everything goes at normal speed, but in the artist's mind, everything is slow and the feeling is stagnant.
